As a former collegiate dancer, Meghan understands first-hand that dancers are both artists and athletes and they require specialized treatment. She is passionate about helping the dancers who feel misunderstood and frustrated when told to "rest and slowly work back into it" without any real guidance or appreciation for the complexity of what they do.
Meghan owns Head2Toe Physical Therapy, a mobile concierge practice that focuses on helping dancers recover from injuries safely, prevent future injuries, and maximize their performance through one-on-one sessions and group workshops. Her goal is to keep dancers in the studio and performing, doing what they love for as long as they want and act as a partner in health with companies, studios, schools, and teams. In-person sessions are typically in dancers’ homes, dance studios, Pilates studios, or wherever is convenient for them. Meghan also provides physical therapy and wellness services with Atlanta Dance Medicine and offers virtual sessions for dancers in NC, GA, and PA.
Meghan graduated with a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Emory University, M.S. in Health & Rehabilitation Sciences (Sports Medicine concentration) from the University of Pittsburgh, and B.A. in Dance from the University of North Carolina – Charlotte. As a member of the International Association of Dance Medicine and Science, Meghan has presented nationally and internationally on topics related to dance medicine, Pilates-based rehabilitation, and the adolescent female athlete. She presents dance injury prevention and performance improvement workshops to the local dance community and offers yearly wellness screens and ongoing conditioning and Pilates classes. Meghan has been a guest lecturer for the UNC-Charlotte Dance Department and serves as a Clinical Mentor for dance medicine projects in conjunction with the Drexel University Physical Therapy Department. She has also assisted with backstage coverage of off-Broadway shows and the So You Think You Can Dance Tour.
