Bio:

Ellen is a Doctor of Physical Therapy and has been a part of the competitive dance world her entire life. After 18 years of studio training in Northern IL, Ellen was a member of the nationally ranked St. Ambrose University Dance Team in Davenport, IA. Ellen received her Bachelor's in Exercise Science followed by her Doctorate in Physical Therapy and Orthopedic Clinical Specialist certification from St. Ambrose. She has continued to reside in the Iowa Quad Cities and has since returned to be a part of the St. Ambrose Dance Team coaching staff. She was drawn to the practice of physical therapy as she can use a unique blend of science and art to optimize the performance of every dancer that she works with. Additionally, she is passionate about preventative health and wellness including nutrition, stress management, and pre-habilitation. 

Ellen is board certified in orthopedics and specializes in dance medicine, sports medicine, and manual therapy. She additionally treats all general orthopedics, concussions, vestibular / dizziness rehab, and headaches. She is a member of many professional dance based organizations including International Association for Dance Medicine Specialists (IADMS) and Doctors for Dancers (DFD). Ellen is also a member of the America Physical Therapy Organization (APTA) and American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Therapists (AAOMPT).

Ellen is passionate about working with dancers of all ages and levels. She loves to educate and work with dance parents, coaches, and studio staff. Her ultimate goal is to create a safe environment for dancers to rehab and train. Ellen believes in working with the dancer as both an athlete AND an artist- to sustain a long and healthy dance career!
