Christen is a licensed Physical Therapist who graduated from Ithaca College. She has been practicing PT in Denver at Steadman Hawkins Clinic (now a part of UCHealth) since 2012. She is a dance medicine specialist, working with dancers of all ages, skill levels, and styles of dance, although sees a majority of ballet dancers and POMS athletes.

Her primary place of work is with UCHealth Steadman Hawkins Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Clinic, treating all athletes in addition to her specialization with dancers. In addition, Christen works with Denver Dance Medicine Associates, where she travels to perform physical therapy services on-site at dance academies and companies. Also, she performs injury prevention screenings for dancers.

Christen grew up in Spokane, WA where she danced ballet for 7 years before giving it up to pursue playing soccer. Her dance experience, in addition to the knowledge she has gained through seminars and workshops has further motivated her to specialize in treating dancers. She believes in getting athletes back to performing safely and reduce their risk for further injury in the future by looking at more than just the location of injury, but at their body as a whole.
