Bio:

Lisa is a Physical Therapist who grew up in a military family which provided her the opportunity to live in a variety of states across the country. She went to Montana State University where she earned her Bachelor’s in both Kinesiology and Psychology. Lisa participated in a variety of dance styles growing up but found a specific passion for ballet as she got older. She was a member of a local performance company in Washington State throughout high school where she was able to perform in shows such as The Nutcracker, Sleeping Beauty, and Cinderella. Lisa also trained with several intensives and conventions including Cornish College of the Arts and Tremaine Dance. Additionally, Lisa taught dance during high school and continued to do so through college in both performance and competition-based studios.

Lisa received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of Iowa. Following her passion for dance, Lisa trained with Performing Arts clinicians in Chicago as a part of her education. It was here that Lisa was able to work on-site with dancers from The Jofferey Ballet as well as in the clinic with dancers from many prominent dance organizations in the Chicagoland area.

Lisa specializes in injury prevention, general rehabilitation, and conditioning, as well as return to performance. She utilizes a holistic approach and a variety of tools and modalities to assist dancers with a return to the stage including manual therapy, dry needling, customized conditioning programs, cross-training, and education on pain science and biomechanics. Lisa is also trained in women's pelvic health physical therapy to assist patients with more complex lumbopelvic conditions.

Lisa is passionate about developing relationships with arts programs in her community and collaborating with performing artists and other flexible athletes to work on the unique needs of this population. Lisa is available to provide on-site injury screenings, choreography reviews, personalized warm-up/training routines, or educational talks to assist with the health and wellness of dancers.
