Marc I. Harwood, MD
Marc I. Harwood, MD (he/his/him), is a board-certified non-operative sports medicine specialist in Philadelphia, PA. He cares for pre-professional dancers at the Rock School of Dance Education, School of the Philadelphia Ballet, and University of the Arts and is the Company Physician for the professional dancers of BalletX and the Philadelphia Ballet. He is a consultant to Athletes and the Arts and has been an active member of the International Association of Dance Medicine and Science’s research committee.
Dr. Harwood served as Chief of the Non-Operative Sports Medicine Service at Rothman Orthopaedics from 2010 through 2021. He works for Major League Baseball as Umpire Medical Consultant and serves as the Medical Director for the Major- and Minor League Baseball Umpires. He served as the team physician for the Philadelphia Phillies for 16 seasons—from 2005- 2021. He is a past president of the Major League Baseball Team Physicians Association and is an active member of the Medical Advisory Committee and Research Committee for Major League Baseball. He also served as a team physician for the St. Joseph’s University NCAA Division 1 athletic program from 2020- 2022. He is a sports medicine consultant for several local high schools.
