Kendall Alway, PT, DPT SF Performing Arts Physical Therapy
Kendall Alway is a physical therapist in San Francisco who has specialized in the treatment of dancers since 2001. As owner of SF Performing Arts PT and director of the volunteer ODC Healthy Dancers' Clinic, she has devoted her life to better healthcare for all types of dancers of all ages. Patients include teens to age 90+, ability levels from beginner to elite students, and professionals. Her experience as a semi-professional ballet student and professional modern dancer informs her approach to the rehab and conditioning of dancers. Using an evidence-based approach to weight and resistance training, dance technique retraining and manual therapy, patients work hard to strengthen and gain the knowledge of their body needed for a lifetime of dance.
Kendall is also a member of IADMS, the International Association for Dance Medicine and Science, and PAMA, the Performing Arts Medicine Association. She has been published in Dance Magazine, Dance Spirit Magazine, and has presented at IADMS, PAMA, and Harvard Spaulding. She is contracted to care for company members of LINES Ballet, ODC and San Francisco Ballet.
