Bio:

Dr. Anna Reiser, PT, DPT is a physical therapist specializing in dance rehab and injury prevention. Starting at age 3, the primary focus of Anna's dance training was always ballet, but she also took classes in jazz, tap, modern, contemporary, hip hop, and musical theatre at studios across Orange County. She attended summer intensive programs with American Ballet Theatre and the Radio City Rockettes. She continued her dance training at University of California, Irvine where she earned a BFA in Dance Performance, in addition to a BS in Biological Sciences.  While in school, Anna worked as a pointe shoe fitter, rehearsal assistant, ballet teacher, and choreographer. In these roles, she noticed that there were some gaps in dancers' education about anatomy, injury prevention, health, and wellness. Having identified a need for healthcare providers with dance knowledge, she decided to become a physical therapist, and earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy at Northern Arizona University.

Anna believes in taking physical therapy for dancers beyond just recovering from current injuries - she aims to help dancers better understand their bodies, train safely and effectively, advocate for themselves, and extend their careers by preventing future injuries. She supports her patients through both the emotional and physical aspects of recovery, and views the therapist-patient relationship as an opportunity for teamwork, collaboration, and education. In addition to acute and chronic orthopedic conditions, Anna has expertise in sacroiliac joint dysfunction, concussions, and hypermobility syndromes such as EDS. She is currently accepting new patients at Progressive Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation in Irvine, CA.
