Lauren Coar, DPT – E-Motion Physical Therapy and Wellness
Dr. Lauren Coar is a dance physical therapist and pilates instructor based in Jersey City at E-Motion Physical Therapy and Wellness. With a lifelong passion for dance, she grew up competing in various styles, which led her to dance at the Division I collegiate level with the University of Delaware, where she contributed to her team's achievement of two national championships.
Dr. Coar received her doctorate in Physical Therapy from Seton Hall University and has completed specialized training in dance medicine. As a Balanced Body reformer Pilates instructor, she incorporates Pilates techniques to tailor rehabilitation to the movements essential for dancers while also offering cross-training sessions for injury prevention.
Her mission is to support dancers in taking care of their bodies, enabling them to continue pursuing their passion. Dr. Coar strives to be the resource she wished she had during her own demanding dance career, with a special focus on injury prevention techniques and cross-training. In her free time, she enjoys taking dance classes throughout the city, and continuously immersing herself in the dance community.
