Stephanie Greenspan PT, DPT, OCS, NCS – Artletic Science
Stephanie Greenspan is a Doctor of Physical Therapy with post-graduate residency/fellowship training and board specialties in orthopaedic and neurologic physical therapy. She founded Artletic Science in 2021 with the mission to enhance the health and performance of artist athletes through research, education, and physical therapy. As a physical therapist, her practice is focused on recreational to professional level circus artists and dancers. She has been the show physical therapist for the resident show “Dear San Francisco” from the 7 Fingers since it launched in 2021 and has provided backstage physical therapy for performing arts organizations including Urban Jazz Company, Lines Ballet, ODC Dance Company, and several shows at American Conservatory Theater in San Francisco.
Stephanie frequently teaches educational workshops at dance and circus studios on topics related to wellness, performance, hypermobility, and injury management including concussions. She is a frequent presenter on performing arts topics at conferences including American Physical Therapy Association, International Association of Dance Medicine, American Circus Educators Association, and the Performing Arts Medicine Association.
As an Adjunct Associate Professor at Samuel Merritt University, she studies injuries in circus artists and 3D motion in aerialists. She also chairs the Surveillance of Injuries for Research on Circus (SIRC) working group that created a consensus statement for injury surveillance in circus and is co-editor of the Sciences section for the journal Circus Arts, Life and Sciences.
