Bio:
Dr. Alison Carr, PT, DPT is a Doctor of Physical Therapy who has over 20 years of classical ballet experience. She received her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Miami, and now treats adult and adolescent dancers for various orthopedic injuries, in addition to treating the general population.
Through education on exercise and body mechanics, gradual return to activity, and a focus on strength training, Alison ensures that her clients safely return to dance. Alison is passionate about helping dancers return to dance stronger than they were before their injury.
Alison studied ballet at the Joffrey Ballet School, Milwaukee Ballet School, and Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet. While an undergraduate student at Florida State University, Alison danced in the Tallahassee Ballet Company corps. She has also studied jazz, modern, and tap. In addition to being a physical therapist, Alison is also a certified yoga instructor and teaches yoga, ballet, and ballet barre fitness classes.
