Since 2009, I have worked with professional performing artists on traveling Broadway shows. I would often hear about how a lot of the care they were receiving was sub-par. You deserve better!
Dancing is a full body sport. An injury is not a localized event. The whole body and its multiple systems need to be considered in order to get to the root of the issue and get you back to, or keep you doing the things you are passionate about!
I am a physical therapist that has done advanced training and am board certified in an integrative approach to manual therapy.
My primary training has been through the Institute of Physical Art, which offers the board certification in Functional Manual Therapy (FMT). There are only 4 therapists in the Ft. Worth area with the FMT certification and only 12 in the entire DFW metroplex.
I have also done advanced training in visceral manipulation, and assist with teaching, through the Barral Institute’s Visceral Manipulation curriculum. There are only 4 practitioners in the entire metroplex with the same level of training in visceral manipulation, and none have the same combination of training.
My oldest daughter is actively involved in the dance company at her studio. Our family has been to many dance competitions, conventions, and performances. We understand how the long days of practice and competition can wear on a body. We are constantly helping our daughter to be at her best and avoid injury when possible, but recover well when needed.
I am married to Elizabeth (15 years) and have 3 children: Elyanah (avid dancer and on dance company at her studio), Judah, and Aila Rose.
