Jody Herman, MS, RDN, CEDRD
Jody is a Registered Dietitian, Nutrition Educator, and Certified Eating Disorder Specialist (CEDRD). Jody provides one-on-one and group nutrition counseling for dancers, dance teachers, and studios through her practice JLH Nutrition Therapy. She also participates in public speaking engagements for the performing arts communities and mental health clinicians where she discusses topics including nutrition, body image, and mental health. Jody serves as the Clinical Manager at Bamboo Nutrition Therapy. Jody is a former modern dancer, and was drawn to the dietetics field so that she could gain insight on how to fuel for training, performance, and day to day life as a dancer and share that with performing arts communities. She danced in Cleveland, OH and New York, NY and trained with the José Limón Dance Company and at Case Western Reserve University. She attended various summer intensives with the José Limón Dance Company, Paul Taylor Dance Company, and at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance in London. She earned her Masters of Science from Drexel University in Philadelphia, PA and began public speaking engagements for dance communities. Jody began working as a Clinical Registered Dietitian in the mental health field in 2018 and received her credential as a Certified Eating Disorder Specialist (CEDRD) in 2021 from the International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals. Merging her experience with mental health, nutrition, and dance, she has unique insight on supporting the dance community from a perspective of prioritizing both physical and psychological needs.
