Angie Weiss is a Licensed Registered Dietitian Nutritionist with two passions in life: dance and nutrition. She began taking dance lessons at the age of 3 and graduated high school spending more time at her dance studio than her home. Angie has a background in studio dance and drill team. She was a World Famous Kilgore College Rangerette on the 68th line before graduating with a B.A. in Dance from Texas Woman’s University. Angie was a high school dance teacher for three years, an assistant drill team director, a drill team director, and a varsity cheerleading coach. She has been teaching studio dance classes for years to all ages and enjoys country dancing in her free time.
Through her passion for dance, Angie discovered a significant need for nutrition education and support in the dance industry. She chose to become an ovo-lacto vegetarian the summer before starting high school which sparked her interest in nutrition, dietetics, and living a healthier lifestyle. Angie was required to maintain a healthy weight range for two years while dancing in college. Through this experience, she discovered that balancing exercise with healthy food choices and portion control worked best for her body. After finishing her dance degree, Angie studied nutrition and dietetics, graduating with a B.S. in Nutritional Sciences from Texas A&M University. She went on to complete a dietetic internship through Aramark and passed her CDR exam. Angie has served as a nutrition services director for a local food bank, a clinical dietitian for a hospital, and a dietitian for an outpatient renal dialysis clinic.
Angie recently co-founded HEAL Nutrition and Wellness, a business offering tailored nutrition education from Dietitians through private consultations, group classes, and workshops. Her company focuses on Healthy Eating and Active Living, assisting clients in reaching achievable lifestyle goals for a better quality of life. Angie primarily works with dancers and recreational athletes, customizing interactive nutrition lessons to encourage fueling the body for success. She believes that a healthier lifestyle builds a happier life and when you will feel better, you dance better!
